LED, or light emitting diode therapy, is a skincare treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light. At PEACH CLINICS we can provide near-infrared, red, yellow, green and blue light therapy depending on your skin goals. LED light therapy works at a cellular level heightening internal functions and stimulating dermal blood flow. This makes it especially helpful in fighting acne and soothing the symptoms of rosacea.

Unlike other types of light therapy, LEDs do not contain ultraviolet rays. Because of this, they can be very intense but remain safe for regular use and safe for all skin colours and types.

Treatments at PEACH CLINICS last 30 minutes and consist of 20 minutes of LED light therapy, and sunscreen protection post-treatment. You’ll need to return once a week for up to 10 weeks for effective results, then only once every few months to maintain your results.

Our Equipment

PEACH CLINICS uses the MediLUX LED Light Therapy machine with the latest in high-energy light therapy technology.

This is a powerful medical-grade device with over 1,500 LEDs and is registered with the Australian TGA (ARTG No.317123)

The MediLUX can be programmed for blue, green, yellow, red and near-infrared treatment. Each discrete wavelength of light targets different specific skin concerns such as acne congestion, facial redness, pigmentation, uneven tone, neck lines, wrinkles and signs of ageing.

Because of the intensity and effectiveness of the MediLUX, treatment time is limited to 20 minutes per session.

However, the gentle and restorative nature of LED light therapy means that treatments can be performed year round with no pain, no side-effects and no post-treatment downtime.

Dermal Repair (830nm near-infrared)

Near-infrared light increases white blood cell production to assist in regenerating, rejuvenating, tightening and repairing inflamed skin. It works to boost Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), responsible for carrying energy through the cell, to encourage cellular regeneration and wound healing.

In a study of US Navy SEALs using LED light therapy to help heal wounds, the treatment led to improvement times of more than 40% in recovery from training injuries. The study also found it reduced wound healing times in US Navy submarine crews following work injuries.

Suggested course of treatment
When used for accelerated healing on wounds or recent scars, treatments can be undertaken weekly or twice weekly for one month. Treatment may be ongoing for better results. Intervals for ongoing treatment will vary from person to person.

Age Management (633nm Red)

Red LED light works on the epidermis or outer layer of skin to encourage increased blood circulation and lymphatic flow by inducing a mild inflammation of the outer layer of skin.

This encourages cellular renewal and promotes a more youthful complexion

Increased blood circulation should also reduce inflammation post-treatment. Red LED light can potentially reduce signs of ageing such as wrinkles by acting on skin cells called fibroblasts and encouraging them to produce more collagen.

Suggested course of treatment
When used for age management, treatments can be undertaken from 1 to 4 weeks apart. Treatment needs to be ongoing in order to maintain results. Intervals to achieve this will vary from person to person.

Redness reduction (590nm Yellow)

Yellow LED light stimulates collagen production and assists in regenerating the skin from within. Yellow light is beneficial for spider veins and rosacea.

If you have rosacea, you know how pervasive and difficult to treat its symptoms can be. It is a common chronic inflammatory skin disorder that manifests primarily on the face in approximately 5% of fair-skinned people.

In this way, the constricted blood vessels become less visible. Yellow light encourages ATP production and fibroblast activity. Those receiving yellow LED light therapy report a softening of skin and a reduction in fine lines.

Suggested course of treatment
Treatments can be undertaken once or twice weekly with visible results after 8 to 10 treatments. As LED light therapy treats the symptoms and not the cause of these conditions, treatment needs to be ongoing in order to maintain results. Intervals to achieve this will vary from person to person.

Skin tone correction (520nm Green)

This wavelength assists with skin tone correction. Unwanted pigmentation problems, such as brown spots and freckles, can occur in all skin types. This hyperpigmentation is characterised by darker areas of skin caused by the overproduction of melanin - the pigment in the skin.

Green LED light therapy targets melanocytes: the melanin-producing cells in the bottom layer of the skin. It inhibits the production of excess melanin and prevents it from travelling to the skin’s surface. It also breaks up melanin clusters to lessen the extent of existing discolouration.

As a result, dark spots on your skin partially fade and your skin can get a more even skin tone.

Suggested course of treatment
Green LED light therapy can be undertaken weekly. 6 to 12 consecutive treatments are recommended with less frequent sessions to maintain results.

Acne management (415nm Blue)

Blue LED light targets the sebaceous glands which are small oil-producing glands in the skin.

It should reduce sebaceous activity with the aim of fewer acne breakouts

Blue LED light works to clear gland congestion and kill the acne-causing bacteria, propionibacterium acnes, by targeting the metabolic products of the bacteria producing an oxygen-free radical that, in turn, kills the bacteria.

Suggested course of treatment
For the treatment of acne, clinical trials have shown that treatment sessions twice weekly for 8 weeks are recommended.

This should be followed by one session per week for 4 weeks to assist in reducing bacteria counts and the inflammation associated with acne.
